My Story

Nazar Şigaher, an interior architect and furniture designer, wearing a black blazer and looking at the camera.

I graduated from the Department of Interior Architecture at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 2006. During and after my studies, I worked in various architectural offices while focusing on furniture design. In 2006, I was selected by Wallpaper magazine as one of ten promising designers from Turkey.

In 2013, I co-founded the furniture brand Daedalus with my partner, Emre Evrenos. Alongside developing designs for my own brand, I have worked independently with a range of other brands and continue my design practice in this field.

My clock design Frame, produced by Meyer Objects, was exhibited at MUDAC in Lausanne, Switzerland, and later at CID – Grand-Hornu in Belgium. The Telling Time exhibition brought together 150 timepieces spanning the past 500 years, drawn from European museums and private collections. Frame was also included in The World Wide Things Collection, featuring designs from international design capitals, and was exhibited at the Universalmuseum Joanneum in Graz, Austria.

In 2019, Frame received a German Design Award. In 2023, I was named Designer of the Year by Elle Decoration Turkey, followed by the Sustainable Design Award in 2024.

Between 2014 and 2017, I worked as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Kadir Has University. Since 2016, I have continued teaching at Bahçeşehir University.
