Span Series

Span is a series of tables developed around the relationship between a solid, opaque geometry and a framed transparent surface. The way these two primary geometries interlock brings together the contrasts between solid and void, weight and lightness, within a single composition.

Rather than revealing the supporting structure directly, the coloured and textured glass filters it, transforming its colour, boundaries and perceived depth. In this way, the glass moves beyond being merely a functional surface and becomes an active design element that reinterprets the visual character of the geometry supporting it.
