Fountain of 54 Litres

Shaping Water Competition

2025

Fountain of 54 Litres is an installation that highlights the limited, precious, and unequally accessible na-ture of water. The work is composed of 54 individual 1-liter bottles of drinking water. All the water remains consumable at the end of the exhibition, ensuring not a single drop is wasted.

The fluid wave form created by the bottles references the natural movement and continuity of water, while establishing a three-dimensional sculptural presen-ce that engages viewers physically.

At the center of the installation stands a reflecti-ve stainless steel column, which provides visual contrast to the wave form and simultaneously ren-ders the background less visible preserving the clarity of the design. This surface adds depth to the composition, while integrated LED lights crea te refractions within the water bottles, visually em phasizing the poetic and optical nature of water.

The geometric, cornered platform supports ease of construction and, together with the ceiling of the spa-ce, reflects the bottles to anchor the fountain within its environment.
